On October 9th, 2013, representatives from the Nebo Education Foundation visited MJHS and presented a grant to our librarian, Ann Peay, in the amount of $882.10.  Mrs. Peay applied for the grant to fund a subscription to Scholastic Magazine.  With this subscription, Mrs. Peay will be able to make available to teachers and students, this outstanding magazine which features up to date stories and coverage of current events.  Each magazine features non-fiction articles, accompanying activities and an online site for further activities.  Thank you Mrs.

Mapleton Jr. High School is pleased to announce the September 2013 Students of the Month. Each academic area selects one outstanding student per grade level to represent their department for student of the month. In order to be selected these students must show superior academic achievement along with exceptional citizenship. The MJHS students of the month were invited to a pizza party to celebrate this fantastic accomplishment. The students of the month for September are (listed by academic area):

7th Grade Vision Screening will be held on Tuesday, October 1st beginning at 8:50 am.

Picture make-up day will be on Friday, September 27th.  If you purchased a packet and want re-takes you must return the packet.  If you were absent on picture day, please plan to get your picture taken for the yearbook even if you don't want to purchase a packet.

Any 9th grade students that will be attending Maple Mountain High School next year and are interested in participating on Maple Mountain High Schools Swim Team, there will be a  Parent Meeting on Tuesday, September 17th at 3:30 in the Team Room at MMHS.

Tryouts are on Monday, October 7, 5:00 AM at the Springville Community Pool.

Girls Tennis Tryouts will start Tuesday, August 27th right after school. All girls need to meet in the small gym with racquets and ready to hit. We will have a short meeting then go outside onto the courts. You need to be there to sign up. If you cannot make the meeting or play after school, please see Coach Jex.

Golf Tryouts for the MJHS Golf Team will be Wednesday, August 28th at 4:00-till dusk.  Tryouts will be held at East Bay Golf Course.  Cost is $14 for Executive Course and a Medium Bucket of Range Balls.  Please wear and tuck in (at all times) a golf shirt with a collar, also wear a belt with slacks or shorts.  Blue-jeans are not allowed PLEASE.  Spikes and golf hat if you have them.  Any questions, contact Coach Mike Nalette.  michael.nalette [at] nebo.edu

First day of School is Thursday, August 22 8:00 am.

School Pictures will be on Friday, August 23  Picture packets will come home with students on Thursday, or pick one up in the office.  Everyone needs to have their picture taken for the yearbook regardless or whether you are buying a packet
