Becky is one of the most dedicated teachers and colleagues. Without doubt, her service here at MJHS has influenced the staff, faculty, parents, and student body for the better. She is a true leader by the way she serves. Countless times, you can find Becky offering additional support to students and teachers to ensure that all succeed. She is constantly examining how students learn and helping those around her.

MJHS students of the month for March

Mapleton Jr. High School is pleased to announce the March 2013 Students of the Month. Each academic area selects one outstanding student per grade level to represent their department for student of the month. In order to be selected these students must show superior academic achievement along with exceptional citizenship. Mapleton Jr 7th Grade Students Launch Paper Balloons

MAPLETON -- Brian Frankowski's seventh-grade enriched science class at Mapleton Junior High took flight Tuesday morning without their feet leaving the ground. The class used a propane burner to fill tissue-paper hot air balloons they have been building for weeks and let them loose in the sky above the school and surrounding homes.

"We've learned about density and how convection currents form, and we're taking advantage of density differences between the hot air and the cold air," Frankowski said.

MJHS Symphonic Band selected for state band festival

The Mapleton Junior High School Symphonic Band has recently been selected to participate in the Utah Music Educators Association Junior High School State Concert Band Festival. Only 14 bands throughout the state of Utah were chosen to participate in this festival. The audition was recorded at the beginning of January and consisted of music that they had been practicing through-out the year. The selection committee notified MJHS Band Director Ms. Emily Smith of their acceptance approximately two weeks after the recording was made.

Ms. Heaton’s classes read over 50,000 pages during the month of January

For the month of January Ms. Heaton’s classes had a reading contest to see who could read the most pages for the month.
