Michael Nalette is this month’s Spirit of the Mustang award winner presented at faculty meeting. The award goes to a faculty member each month that goes above and beyond the call of duty. Along with his teaching duties, Mike is the head golf coach and helps with the track team. Mr.
Becky is one of the most dedicated teachers and colleagues. Without doubt, her service here at MJHS has influenced the staff, faculty, parents, and student body for the better. She is a true leader by the way she serves. Countless times, you can find Becky offering additional support to students and teachers to ensure that all succeed. She is constantly examining how students learn and helping those around her.
Mapleton Jr. High School is pleased to announce the March 2013 Students of the Month. Each academic area selects one outstanding student per grade level to represent their department for student of the month. In order to be selected these students must show superior academic achievement along with exceptional citizenship. The MJHS students of the month were invited to a pizza party to celebrate this fantastic accomplishment. The students of the month for March are (listed by academic area):

On Thursday March 21 Trevor Jeppson attended the Central Utah Science and Engineering fair held at Brigham Young University for students of all ages.

MAPLETON -- Brian Frankowski's seventh-grade enriched science class at Mapleton Junior High took flight Tuesday morning without their feet leaving the ground. The class used a propane burner to fill tissue-paper hot air balloons they have been building for weeks and let them loose in the sky above the school and surrounding homes.
"We've learned about density and how convection currents form, and we're taking advantage of density differences between the hot air and the cold air," Frankowski said.
