Spirit of the Mustang - November

Submitted by andrea.pond on

Mrs. Jessica Low is the type of teacher I aspire to be. Her quick wit and keen intellect provide the icing on the cake of a classroom experience that is the grounded in the curriculum and best-practices of her subject. She patiently collaborates and assists her team each year, puts in countless hours of research and lesson planning, and is a fierce advocate for teachers and public education. From “Dr. Who-ifying” her writing units to dealing with some of our most difficult students, she is both creative and professional.

Utah Studies 7th Grade Field Trip

Submitted by andrea.pond on

The 7th graders that are currently in Utah Studies had the opportunity to go to This is the Place State Park. We had such a great time learning about the history of Utah. We learned about the Navajo Hogans, the life of a mountain man, how to pull a handcart, the business of saddle making, black smithing, and how a school was run in the 1800's. The students realized that they really have it easy in this day and age since the teachers don't make them wear dunce caps and make them stand against the walls. We had a great time and it was an awesome learning experience.

Spirit of the Mustang - October

Holly Tippets exemplifies the “Spirit of the Mustang” as a teacher that is always putting the student first.  As I have observed her classroom and collaborated with her, it is obvious that students adore her.  Her enthusiasm and energy about life and the subject that she teaches is addictive.  She creates a unique environment in her classroom that makes the students feel welcome, appreciated, and challenged all at the same time.  Her creative

Red Ribbon Week at MJHS

Submitted by andrea.pond on

Last week was Red Ribbon Week at MJHS.  The students all anchored together to take a stand against drugs and bullying by wearing red wristbands throughout the week.  They also wore RED on Wednesday and finished the week with an assembly.  We had a visit and demonstration by the K-9 dog and officers. Thank you to the students and teachers for a great week in support of Red Ribbon Week!
