World Class Athlete at MJHS

Hailey Cox, 8th grade student at Mapleton Junior High, has been wrestling competitively since she was in 3rd grade.  Not surprising for a girl raised by a wrestling coach father and who tumbled with brothers that wrestle competitively also.   Hailey focused her attention into “all girl” wrestling competitions, sending her to meets in Oklahoma and Reno, Nevada.    She was selected to participate in the Pan Am games which were recently held in Brazil.  She took first place in her weight and age group!  She then qualified for the World team which will co

Congratulations to the April Students of the Month

Mapleton Jr. High School is pleased to announce the April 2014 Students of the Month. Each academic area selects one outstanding student per grade level to represent their department for student of the month. In order to be selected these students must show superior academic achievement along with exceptional citizenship. Spirit of the Mustang - April

Each month the faculty at Mapleton Junior High presents the Spirit of the Mustang award to a faculty member that embodies the school mission statement of "Students are the focus - Success is the goal".   These individuals go above and beyond.

7th Grade Utah Studies Students go to “This is the Place State Park”

On Thursday March 27 half of the seventh grade students at MJHS loaded bussed and header to “This is the Place State Park” in Salt Lake City.  Students went through six learning station that gave them a hands on learning experience about many things they have learned in the classroom.  Students were able to pull handcarts, visit a school house from pioneer times, and see working blacksmiths shop.  The weather was a little frightful with rain and snow, some sun and was true to form with the type of weather pioneers had to endure.  Overall, it was a great day filled with l

CUSEF Science Fair Winners

Mapleton Junior High would like to congratulate Haley Green, Trevor Jeppson, and Kylie Beutler, 2014 Central Utah Science and Engineering Fair Winners.

Haley Green was a Grand Prize winner.  Her entry in the plant science category showed the impact of temperature on photosythesis, relating the oxygen production of an acquatic plant in different water temperatures to global warming.  She now has the option to apply for the Broadcom Masters National contest.
