December Spirit of the Mustang - Kelly Cook

Recently, I watched the movie Cinderella, the theme throughout the movie is "have courage and be kind." I immediately thought of Kelly Cook when I heard those words (and the fact that she loves Lilly James in the movie seemed the most appropriate way to describe Kelly).  Kelly has taught me so much about love and compassion in the short time that I have known her. Everyday I watch her show up for her students, treating them with dignity and respect. When dealing with difficult situations, she exemplifies the importance of responding instead of reacting to the students. She always shows confidence in her students' abilities to do hard things, and encourages and motivates her students to keep trying and do their best.

Kelly is not only amazingly talented with her craft of acting and singing, but she also is one of the most genuine people I have ever met. I admire her courage to be authentic and personal with those around her; by doing so, she holds space for others to do the same.  I feel honored and grateful to have you as a friend. Thank you for all you do! You are a blessing to all those you associate with.

Student Schedule Changes for Next Semester

With the new semester rapidly approaching we want to address the process of requesting schedule changes. Starting now, counselors will be available to make schedule changes.  Please note that discussing possible schedule changes does not guarantee a student's schedule request will be granted. Once a student has spoken with a counselor and he/she has made sure that the class is not full and is logistically possible, the student will be sent to obtain teacher and parent signatures on an official add/drop class change form. Once the form is completed with all signatures and the class change fee of $5.00 has been paid, the counselor will finalize the changes and the student's changed schedule will be available to view on SIS/Aspire.  No schedule changes will be made once a class has reached its maximum capacity (even if a student has already obtained the needed signatures).
