Dear Students and Parents,

End of Second Term

Welcome back from Christmas Break - It’s now crunch time!  Second Term ends next Thursday, January 10th... So that means only a few days are left to check with teachers and get any missing work gathered, completed and turned in.

School Reading for Enjoyment Competition

Ms. Heaton's Reading for Enjoyment Class has organized a school readathon. Students who want to participate can pick up a reading log in the office, library, or Ms. Heaton’s classroom (Room 119). Students will log the hours that they read from Thursday, January 3rd through Wednesday, January 9th. Logs are due to Ms. Heaton after school on Wednesday, January 9th. The top 20 student winners and the top 5 teacher winners will attend an ice cream party during Flex on Thursday, January 10th. Happy reading!

Annual PTO Art Show

The time is fast approaching for the annual PTO Art Show.  We will begin accepting entries in the MAIN OFFICE on January 22, 2019.  All entries are due by February 6th, 2019. Things to remember: Students will be allowed 2 entries per category.  Feel free to enter multiple categories, but please select your best 2 pieces. All paper entries (drawings, paintings not on canvas and photographs) need to be mounted on BLACK cardstock. Please do not submit any framed pieces. Thank you for your participation!  -MJHS PTO

Student Schedule Changes for Next Semester

With the new semester rapidly approaching we want to address the process of requesting schedule changes. Starting now, counselors will be available to make schedule changes.  Please note that discussing possible schedule changes does not guarantee a student's schedule request will be granted. Once a student has spoken with a counselor and he/she has made sure that the class is not full and is logistically possible, the student will be sent to obtain teacher and parent signatures on an official add/drop class change form. Once the form is completed with all signatures and the class change fee of $5.00 has been paid, the counselor will finalize the changes and the student's changed schedule will be available to view on SIS/Aspire.  No schedule changes will be made once a class has reached its maximum capacity (even if a student has already obtained the needed signatures).
