Justin Johnson is one of our amazing Science teachers at MJHS. The students love his enthusiasm and love for science. He always has a positive attitude and a smile on his face! He is the girl’s tennis coach and learn so much from him. They really should, because he was the State Tennis Champion!! He graduated from Spanish Fork High School and went onto UVU. He loves fried shrimp, the colors red and green, and his favorite place to travel is Alaska. He is married and has 4 kids.
Thank you Mr. Johnson for being such an amazing teacher at MJHS!!
Ms. Heaton recognized Holly Tippetts in our Nebo News Newsletter.
Holly Tippetts: Teacher, Mapleton Junior "She's cheerful, postitive, and hard working." She's an advocate for students and teachers. It's not unusual for Holly to break out in a rap to help students remember concepts or share a joke to improve the learning environment."
We have amazing teachers at MJHS!
Good morning, everyone! This is Anne Onymous and I'm here with your breaking news in Mapleton Junior High School.
On Monday, the students went on strike . . . against the opponents of School Spirit. Students wore colors, jerseys, and Mustang memorabilia. Witness Kim Kardashian says: "Is this thing on . . . ? How's my makeup?" She checks her makeup. "Sorry, anyways, yeah. All these kids were showing up to school wearing the colors of their school. It was kinda cool, I guess."

To better understand their class novel, Freak the Mighty, 7th graders had "Disabilities Day". Students experienced simulations for learning disabilities such as dyslexia and physical disabilities. While it is impossible to truly know what it is like to have a disability without actually having one, the activity helped the 7th graders relate to others and the novel.
Mr. Diehl has been involved in music from a very young age. One of the first music experiences he remembers is singing with his siblings in the Diehl family quartet. He sang Soprano (he sang higher than his sister!). This was the beginning of a long list of musical involvement. Mr. Diehl went on to sing in lots of choirs (both in middle and high school). He also spent a lot of time practicing/studying piano, eventually becoming quite an accomplished pianist. After high school, Mr.
As part of reading Romeo & Juliet the students in Mrs.Adams's English class recreated an Elizabethan Masquerade Ball - complete with dancing, music, and best of all treats! Madison Hall of the BYU Music, Dance, Theatre program taught the students several dances including a vigorous galliard. Students enjoyed the opportunity to build some context and experience something new and different.
I chose to give the Spirit of the Mustang to Linda Woodfield. Not only is she probably the sweetest person but she shows the spirit of the Mustang in all she does here at our school. Whether it being supportive of the students in their academics or volunteering to dance in front of everyone at the Welcome Back Assembly or completing a dare in our dare assembly, Linda is always there to lend a helping hand.
