Ms. Lopez graduated from Payson High School and is working on her Bachelors degree in Special Education at USU. She now helps out some of our students with their classes. One of her favorite treats is a snickers. Her celebrity crushes are Orlando Bloom and Jason Momoa. Her favorite Disney princess is not a princess but a fairy, Tinker Bell. Her favorite TV show is Yellowstone. Her favorite cookie flavor is a snickerdoodle and her favorite sport to play is badminton. We love having Ms. Lopez here at our school!

Mr. (Señor) Thomas graduated from Mountain View High School in Orem, UT. He then earned his Bachelor in History and Spanish teaching from BYU and a  Masters in Education Leadership from BYU. Now he is a Spanish and US history teacher! One of his favorite treats are salt and vinegar chips. The style he wishes would never come back is, “tight pants on men (oh, crap too late.)” His backpack in 6th grade was Royal blue. His favorite brand is BYU. His favorite vacation was to Boston. His best fashion choice was flat top hair with glasses in Jr.

Mr. Mustang pageant started yesterday! Some of our Freshman boys wore their best dress and walked down the runway!! The winners of yesterday are Kaluna And Levi!! Today they participated in a cupcake decorating contest!! The winners of today are 1st place- Xander, 2nd Place- Luca, Tied for 3rd- Peter and Kaluna. Tomorrow they will show off their amazing talents. 

Last night, Mapleton Jr. High and Maple Grove Middle School Math Teams and their families got together to celebrate Pi Day. They enjoyed eating pizza and pie as well as playing fun math games. Awards were also given. 

Congratulations to our very own Math Team for taking 3rd place in the county for the Math Counts Competition. Also, congratulations to Asher Bear Bingham who took 8th place overall in Utah County. 

Ms. Heim graduated from Lehi High School. She then earned her Bachelor's degree in Family and Consumer Sciences Education from BYU and a minor in math education. She now teaches math. One of her favorite treats are Starbursts. The last song she listened to is, Papa’s got a brand new bag by James Brown. If she could go back in time she would go to the 70’s. Her favorite brand is Kirkland Signature™. Her favorite place to travel is Southern Utah. Her favorite sport to play is Soccer. We love having Ms.

Ms. Cook graduated from Wootton High School in Rockville, Maryland. She then received her  Bachelor's Degree in Music Education from BYU and a Masters in Applied Theatre from The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama in London. She now teaches drama!  One of her favorite treats is a Twix. She has three toothbrushes and they are pink, green and purple. Her favorite brand is Converse. She has a green pair that are her favorite. If she had one wish it would be that stage lights and microphones always work, no matter what!

Mr. King graduated from Pleasant Grove High School. He then went to UVU and earned his Bachelor’s degree in Social Studies Education. He teaches History and Coaches our Basketball team. One of his favorite treats is Reese’s. If he could go back in time he would go to the 1940’s or 1950’s. His favorite band is Creedence Clearwater Revival. His favorite Disney Princess is Princess Leia. His favorite TV show is Seinfeld & anything Marvel or Star Wars. His favorite sport to play is Basketball. We are so glad Mr. King is here!

The 2021-2022 Crystal Apple Award was presented to a well deserving educator of Nebo School District , MS. Julie Hammari. The award is in recognition of a continued dedication to the students of Mapleton Jr High. Congratulations Julie and thank you for your commitment!

Mrs. Wallace graduated high school from Broken Arrow, Oklahoma:  Gooooooo Tigers!!! She then received her Bachelors in Math Education at BYU and her Masters in Education at SUU. She is now teaching math to our 8th and 9th graders. One of her favorite treats is Reese’s. The style she wishes would never come back is HUGE hair sprayed bangs. Her favorite band is Mat Kearney. Her celebrity crush is Paul Walker (May he rest in Peace). Her favorite vacation is Cozumel, Mexico.  And her favorite TV show is Vampire Diaries.

Just a reminder that there will be no school tomorrow for our students. The teachers have a teacher development day.
