Roller Coaster Lab

Submitted by travis.moss on

Have you ever wanted to design a roller coaster?  Ms. Hammari's classes recently put their knoweldge of potential and kinetic energy to the test designing the most extreme roller coasters possible.  Instead of metal and wheels the students used tubing and a ball bearing to test their designs.  Their goal was to get the ball bearing to the end of the "roller coaster" using the force of gravity and fighting the effect of friction.  We are so proud of our students and the creativity they demonstrate through all their projects here at MJHS!

Magical Staircase Goal Challenge Winners!

Submitted by nick.sheffer on

Rachel Johnston and Ava Clanton participated and won our recent magical staircase goal challenge.  All our students here at MJHS were challenged to think of a large goal they had set for themselves for the new year and then break that goal down into smaller "steps" that they could use to reach their overall larger goal (hence the magical staircase).  We had over 70 students participate in the challenge and Rachel and Ava won a custom MJHS beanie and a treat when their names were randomly drawn from the group of participants in the challenge.  We look forward to a great
