Mr. Diehl has been involved in music from a very young age.  One of the first music experiences he remembers is singing with his siblings in the Diehl family quartet.  He sang Soprano (he sang higher than his sister!).  This was the beginning of a long list of musical involvement. Mr. Diehl went on to sing in lots of choirs (both in middle and high school).  He also spent a lot of time practicing/studying piano, eventually becoming quite an accomplished pianist.   After high school, Mr. Diehl started his studies at Utah State University.  He became a member of the USU Chamber Singers, the top ensemble at the university.  During his time at the university, Mr. Diehl also sung in several USU opera theater productions, tutored music history students, was an assistant director with Cache Children's Choir, and worked as a contracted vocalist with Utah Festival Opera during their 2011 Season.  After graduating from Utah State University with his Bachelor's Degree in Music Education, Mr. Diehl taught at Aristotle Academy, a charter school located in American Fork.  His duties included directing all the middle school choirs as well asteaching general music to students in the elementary classes.  Following his time at Aristotle Academy, Mr. Diehl took a graduate assistantship with Utah State University, working as the director of the women's choir while completing his Master's Degree in Conducting. Having completed his masters, Mr. Diehl is pleased to now be back in the junior high scene, directing the wonderful choirs at MJHS!
