Generous Donation Helps Special Needs Students at Mapleton Jr. High School.

MJHS Self Contained Special Education Behavior Students

On Thursday August 25th a generous donation was presented to the Nebo Foundation on behalf of Ms. Jo Edan Parker at Mapleton Jr. High School by Keith Nellesen. The substantial $1000.00 donation was a gift from the Nellesen Family Foundation and was presented to help offset costs in the Self Contained Special Education Behavior classroom at Mapleton Junior. The money will specifically help fund the cooking program and other basic needs such as classroom furniture, fieldtrips and additional positive reinforcers. There are currently 9 students in the class that will directly benefit from this donation.
Ms. Parker stated that she was happy to receive the donation, because she had previously shouldered personally the costs of the cooking program at MJHS. With the added funds she will be able to maintain this important program at a satisfactory level.
