Brandon Gomez, a first-year teacher at Mapleton Junior High, has been named the "Most Valuable Educator" by the Utah Jazz and Instructure. The award, which recognizes exceptional teachers, was given to Mr. Gomez after receiving multiple nominations from parents, students, and colleagues who praised his dedication and impact.
The selection committee noted that Mr. Gomez's nominations were particularly moving, reflecting the deep appreciation of the school community. As part of the honor, he received a personalized Jazz jersey, tickets to a game on November 23rd where he will be recognized at halftime, and a $1,000 cash prize to support his classroom.
To celebrate, an assembly was held in his honor, with the beloved Jazz Bear joining the festivities to congratulate him on this well-deserved recognition.
