Representatives from US Synthetic (based in Orem) came to present information on problem solving to the Intro to Information Technology class on Thursday. Their company focuses on a problem solving cycle that they call PDCA which is an adaptation of the scientific method. Students were ask to implement this cycle while creating replicas of a model, lego airplane. Teams tried to build as many planes as possible in three minutes, then evaluate what problems kept them from making more planes, and tried to eliminate those problems during the next building phase. Student Ryan Hafen commented "It was really fun, we had to work as a team to build airplanes out of legos.  In 3 minutes we built as many as we could.  It taught us how to work together as a group".
