In an effort to introduce our students to real-world writing, as well as spark an interest in new books and improving writing skills, the 9th grade English teachers invited published author Lance Conrad to spend the day speaking to the 9th grade students at MJHS. Mr. Conrad told some personal stories that illustrated why stories and words are important to him. He gave us a summary of each of his four books, and read from one of them. He gave writing tips to the students, and had a Q&A session. Because of his fun personality, he was able to excite many students and get them more interested in both reading and writing.
