Science Fair

Paiton Baker, a ninth-grade student at Mapleton Junior High in Nebo School District, won at the Central Utah Stem Fair at Brigham Young University.

Paiton’s STEM project is a computer created from recycled parts (e-waste). The computer was powered 100 percent by solar energy. She developed this project to help people in developing countries with limited money and limited access to electricity, gain access to technology.

Faculty Spotlight: Mr. Groneman

Ms. Groneman teaches FACS- Sewing and Cooking, Fashion Design. One of her favorite treats is a twix. The song she listened to last was some of the Beatles greatest hits. Her shoe size is 6.5. The style she wishes would never come back is big puffy bangs. She doesn't remember having a backpack in 6th, she used her locker. If she had one wish it would be more kindness in the world. Her favorite Disney princess is Rapunzel. Her favorite vacation was a Mediterranean cruise- Italy. Her favorite TV show is This is Us.

Faculty Spotlight: Ms. Jones

Ms. Jones is currently a SPED tech and will be teaching SPED at our school next year. Her favorite treat is Twix and she has several toothbrushes but NONE of them are Pink. Her backpack in 6th grade was Leopard print. Ms. Jones’ favorite brand is Mtn Dew because she’s not really a clothing brand person. If she could go back in time, she would travel to the future because there is so much to look forward to! If Ms. Jones had one wish, it would be that we love, cherish and celebrate ourselves and others for all our strengths and quirks :).

Faculty Spotlight: Ms. Nelson

Miss Nelson teaches math at our school. Nelson’s favorite TV show is Brooklyn Nine-Nine and her favorite treat is Cheetos. The last song that she listened to is Here We Go by NSYNC and her favorite Disney princess is Belle. Her favorite vacation is anytime she gets to go to San Diego and gets to eat cream puffs from Mary’s. She also loves to play golf. We love having Miss Nelson at our school!

 

Faculty Spotlight: Mrs. Rowley

Mrs. Rowley graduated from Springville High School. “Once a Devil, Always a Devil.” She then earned her Bachelors in History Education from UVU and a Masters in Professional Learning Communities from Grand Canyon University. One of her favorite treats is a Hershey’s chocolate bar. When we asked her where she would go if she could go back in time she said, “Ummm anytime in early American history.
