Aly Sims

Introducing Ms. Sims, hailing from Thousand Oaks, California, with a lifelong dream of becoming a teacher since the age of 12. Her passion for English, reading, and writing, coupled with her enthusiasm for sharing knowledge, found the perfect home in the teaching profession.

Every day, you'll find Ms. Sims sharing her love for English with her students. Her infectious enthusiasm turns learning into an adventure. While English is her daily teaching companion, her heart also beats for history, particularly ancient cultures and mythologies.

Ms. Sims defines a good teacher as one who cares for and understands their students, where the material may change, but the connection remains constant. Being a Gen Z educator, she relates to many of her students' references, making a few of her own, even if they're not always appreciated!

In her school days, Ms. Sims was an A student in all subjects, except math, which she humorously calls her nemesis. Her teaching style strikes a balance, offering freedom and second chances while maintaining necessary boundaries. She holds a special appreciation for every student who walks into her class.

The best part of teaching for Ms. Sims? Not feeling like she's drowning. After a challenging intern year, she now exudes confidence and knowledge in her teaching role. In her free time, she enjoys reading, baking, and watching movies.

Her top movie pick is "Captain America: The Winter Soldier," and despite some accidental mid-teaching burps (gross!), she's a dedicated, relatable teacher who shares her passion for learning. Thank you, Ms. Sims, for your unwavering commitment to education and for making the classroom a thrilling place to be!
