Resources to Parents with children that have special needs

Hello Everyone!

 

For those of you who don't know me, I work for the Utah Parent Center as a Parent Consultant and am contracted specifically with Nebo School District to provide free assistance/resources to parents who have children with special needs in Nebo School District.  I also help parents who "suspect" their child may have special needs.  My role in Nebo is to help facilitate communication and assist parents in understanding options and resources, which may include the IEP/504 process and Special Education Law.   

 

The beauty of my role is that I am a "friend" to all, parents and the District alike! I do not teach parents how to "fight" against the District, rather, I teach them how to communicate and work effectively with the District because everyone's goals are really the same--to help all students succeed!

 

Alicia has approved that you send out my information flyer to parents through your email lists, school websites, newsletters, infinite campus, hard copy flyer, etc.  I have included a jpg and a pdf for your convenience.  One school, Santaquin Elementary, even posted my flier in their front office window!  (See attached picture below.)  I also have plenty of hard copy brochures I'm happy to drop off to your school if you would like those to hand out to parents.  Just let me know how I can support your efforts to get my information out!   Please note that there is a number to call on the flyer for Spanish speaking parents.
