In Spanish we do weekly FVR (free voluntary reading) time. There are a variety of books from basic to advanced, comic books, graphic novels, joke books, magazines, leveled readers, short stories, and poetry. The students get to select their choice of reading material and then the rule is to read for the allotted time, no electronics, no talking. I play some meditative music. Reading is the data-proven method to achieve literacy in any language. Thanks for the books. The shelf has what was left after they picked. 10 minutes a week for now but I will increase to a few times a week as we progress. This class enjoyed the time.
