We are honoring Veterans at Mapleton Junior High School on Friday, November 10th. We would love to have art displayed throughout the cafetorium and commons area that represent our theme.
You could choose between many different art options such as: drawing, painting, sculpting, constructing, photography, etc. Please make sure it follows the guidelines.
The guidelines are as follows:
1- Think of the theme, "Land of the Free; Because of the Brave," and create a work of art that represents the theme.
Last Wednesday, September 20th, several students from Mapleton Junior High were invited to attend Nebo School District's leadership conference and heard about sportsmanship and other life lessons from some awesome speakers. The students that attended were selected from our MJHS fall sports teams. The fall sport captains representing MJHS were Benny West - Cross Country, Zanna Perry - Cross Country, Luke Roylance - Golf, and Hannah Townsend - Girls Tennis.
As Veteran's Day approaches, Mapleton Jr. is looking for veterans who are parents, grandparents, or siblings of our students. We are looking for veterans who could come to our Veterans Day Assembly on Friday, November 10 as well as Veterans that we could honor with their picture in a slideshow. Please go pick up a form from Mrs. Rowley in room 211 or Mrs. Bryant in room 401 if you have someone who fits this criteria that you would like to include.
Theresa Carey was honored on Tuesday with the Spirit of the Mustang. This is what our administrators and counselors had to say about her:
Whether it is related to the finance office or not Theresa is super willing to jump in and do what needs to be done. She has vast experience and generally knows the answer to any question right away. She is also super down to earth and willing to look at problems from different perspectives. More specifically, she always has a cocktail of Exedrin and Ibuprofen when I've got a headache.
SWING into the school year by coming to the first dance! It's tonight from 6-8pm. Wear camoflauge, green, black, or white. Cost of entry is three dollars. There will be music, friends, prizes, and a good time. Hope to see as many students there as possible!
The new Michael Vey book, The Final Spark, comes out on September 12th. Since this is a popular book, our librarian, Lori Marett, will be ordering multiple copies. If you would like to be on the waiting list to be able to check it out, go to the library and put yourself on the list. The sooner you are on the list, the sooner you'll be able to check it out. Thank goodness for good books and libraries!
