Update for picking up meals, Chromebooks and expected hours for students

Dear Parents

As mentioned in yesterday’s email, school breakfast and lunch will continue to be available during the school dismissal.  Please note A CHANGE from yesterday’s email - the time has been adjusted for serving these “grab and go” meals. Breakfast will be served from 8:00 - 9:00 a.m. and lunch will be served from 11:00 - 12:00 p.m. We are asking those wishing to get a lunch to call ahead so that an estimate can be made for how much food to prepare each day. To do this simply call the school number 801-489-2892 then select #4 for kitchen and a worker will answer or leave a message on the machine - please state the date and number of meals you are ordering. These call ins may begin immediately. Click this link to see the daily menu https://nebo.nutrislice.com/menu/mapleton-jr?mode=browse (click breakfast or lunch)

I have received several emails about Chromebook pick up. We will check out Chromebooks to MJHS students starting Wednesday, March 18th in the morning at 8:00 a.m. and continuing throughout the day. To check out a Chromebook simply drop into the school and go to the Library. Mrs. Marett will check out a machine one per student. Remember that you will need active WiFi connectivity at home inorder to use a Chromebook.

Another quick answer to a great question I received - Will students need to be logged on during specific hours during the day? No, Online coursework will be very flexible regarding specific times that students may complete it. There is a desire that daily contact between teacher and student occur. Specific hours can fit the flexibility needed by your family.

Thank you again for your amazing support, patience and understanding. I have received many encouraging messages from patrons and they are truly appreciated. This situation is unprecedented and will require flexibility from all of us. However, we want to reassure you that an army of heroic and committed teachers, technicians, and support staff will begin Monday morning to figure this all out. WE'VE GOT THIS! We love your kids and want to keep everyone safe, healthy, and learning through this unusual time.

Sincerely,

MJHS Administration, Faculty and Staff
