Theresa Carey was honored on Tuesday with the Spirit of the Mustang. This is what our administrators and counselors had to say about her:

Whether it is related to the finance office or not Theresa is super willing to jump in and do what needs to be done. She has vast experience and generally knows the answer to any question right away. She is also super down to earth and willing to look at problems from different perspectives. More specifically, she always has a cocktail of Exedrin and Ibuprofen when I've got a headache.

Theresa is always so helpful and is willing to do anything that is asked of her. She will drop everything to help you even when she has 101 things to do herself. She is a great example of doing what she has been asked to do, even when Suzanne asked her years ago to step out in the hall during passing time…she still does it every single day, every period. I had a cold last week and Theresa asked me every day how I was doing and how to help my day go better all while she had a worse cold than I did.

When I heard I was going to be the principal of MJHS, one of the very first thoughts I had was - "Awesome I get to go back and work with Theresa again!" When I was here the first time around she was so helpful and nice and really made me feel good about how I was doing. Guess what - it's the same again, she has helped me to figure out what I'm supposed to be doing and coached me through all the difficult financial things. She has done it in a way that makes me feel like I'm doing ok - she is so supportive that way. Thanks Theresa for being so kind and helpful - you're amazing!

Theresa is all about family.  She is always taking care of a family member in one way or another and making sure they have nothing to worry about in times of crisis.  She also shows so much love and pride when she talks about her family and makes me wish I was a part of it.  I guess when I think about it I really am part of Theresa's family because I belong to Mapleton Junior High and that means Theresa is going to take care of me.  I can't count the number of times I have had a concern outside of school and Theresa is there to offer advice, understanding, and a genuine compassion.  She really feels like a big sister to me and I'm sure many of you could say the same thing.  I have loved working with Theresa and every time I have had a conversation with her I realize that I came away from it feeling lots better about myself or the situation.  Thanks for taking care of your school family just like you take care or your own family!

Theresa is always extremely helpful and kind, she always know the answer for a question when asked. She has been there as a friend and coworker and I know I could go to her for anything.  Theresa puts in so much time and effort into her job as well being very determined to make the office a better place to be each day.  She very much deserves the spirit of the mustang award! I wish she would bring me lunch every day because she always has the yummiest fresh vegetables!
