Spirit of the Mustang Recipient - Jacob Thomas

Teachers have such a huge impact on young minds.  With that kind of responsibility, this becomes more than a job.  It’s an adventure and the direct impact on students is very real.  In all my years of teaching, I have been lucky enough to have incredible examples, compadres, and wonderful friends because of my profession.  There are a handful of us left who were at the middle school where I felt support and love despite the pressure of being a first year teacher, and want to recognize one of them today.  Supportive, honest, dedicated, understanding, and an incredible listener.  This recipient of Spirit of the Mustang is one who does more than his job.  Always concerned about others, including me as a new teacher, and now today as being a little more seasoned.  He is truly a Nebo Hero. But more than anything else, he is my friend.  Senor Thomas will always be the man!
