Each month the faculty at Mapleton Junior High presents the Spirit of the Mustang award to a faculty member that embodies the school mission statement of "Students are the focus - Success is the goal". These individuals go above and beyond.
In April, the award was passed to Maughn Wright, math teacher at MJHS, with the following remarks:
Mr. Maughn Wright was selected as the faculty recipient of the Spirit of the Mustang for the month of April. Mr. Gerke nominated Mr. Wright for his personal characteristics that exemplify the Mustang. “His effective teaching style has weathered the storm of change from program to program and his resilience as a teacher continues from year to year and from student to student. His students respect him and work hard in his classes. He never seems to lose patience with their repeated questions or any of their behaviors. He is steady and secure.” Just like the mustang, Mr. Wright also has the stubborn individualism and intelligence necessary to contribute to the herd. We are pleased to have him as the month of April’s recipient for the Spirit of the Mustang.
