Students at Mapleton Junior High School learned how to be drug free last week with Red Ribbon week. The service learning class helped by making posters and hanging them up around the school. The posters encouraged us not to do drugs and showed the consequences of taking them. During lunch time students took pledges to be drug free.  These pledges were posted in a large display on the wall near the front office.  The student body participated in the weeks activities by dressing up in fun crazy outfits. On Tuesday was sock out drugs day, where kids could wear their crazy socks. Wednesday, they had the opportunity to wear their favorite sports jerseys with stay in the game don’t do drugs day. Be a smarty don’t do drugs was Thursday, and finally Friday was wear red day. “Hocus pocus drugs aren’t our focus,” is Bailee Hickman’s favorite saying for being drug free. Let’s hope we can all be drug free. Thanks to everyone who could help make Red Ribbon week possible.
