Mustang Message Supplementary Friday Edition 4/3/20

Dear Students and Parents,

Spring Break

Next week, April 6-10 is Spring Break. No school will be going on during that time. Enjoy the break from school work! We will begin with “at home learning” again on Monday, April 13th.

Stay Safe and Stay Home

This past Friday Governor Herbert has asked everyone to up our game and to Stay Safe, and Stay Home. We are asking parents and students to limit your visits to the school to necessary business only - for all other questions or concerns a phone call is prefered. Additionally please be aware that teachers will no longer be available for face to face tutoring appointments. You may still arrange an appointment through email with a teacher to happen through Zoom or other face to face online applications. Remember - the key is to communicate your needs with the teacher which should happen mainly through email. All teacher emails can be found on our school website - here is the link: http://mjhs.nebo.edu/faculty  Teachers have committed to respond within 24 hours of receiving an email. The school building and the front office will still be open everyday M-F from 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

New Grading Options for 4th Term

During this time of uncertainty, we recognize the hard work of both teachers and students. In an effort to minimize the anxiety and stress felt by teachers, students, and parents, we are allowing students a choice regarding how their final grade in each class will be recorded on their transcript for 4th term. At the end of the term, a teacher will submit a letter grade for the class. After the grade is submitted by the teacher, the student can choose to keep the standard grade given or move to a pass/fail grade.

 - Please note that the standard Grades of A through D- = Pass Grade. An F grade = F

 - A “P” grade will count for academic credit and will not affect GPA. (Please note that a “P” grade may affect eligibility for NCAA, Regents, or possibly other programs.)

Nebo Grab-N-Go Meal Sites

Beginning Monday, April 13th, Grab-N-Go meals will be available at free sites only. All other sites will be closed down in an effort to consolidate resources. Meal pick-up will change to 10:30 a.m. through 12:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, and is available for all children, ages 0-18. Grab-n-Go meals will include both breakfast and lunch. Meal service will pause during Spring Break, April 6-10th. Please see the following to find a site near you.
