What is MJHS’s Return to School Plan?

There have been many questions coming my way as to what will be done to keep students safe as we return to school this year. Click this link to see the plan for keeping kids healthy and safe here at MJHS - Mapleton Jr. High Detailed Covid Plan

Information About the Remote Learning Option

Parents choosing the district’s remote learning option, Utah Students Connect, now need to contact their MJHS grade level counselor either by email, phone or appointment. Our counselors will help parents by facilitating the enrollment process as well as giving them needed information and answering any questions. Counselors are available from 8:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. Monday-Friday

Counselor Emails:

  • Eric Baum, 7th grade Counselor - eric.baum [at] nebo.edu

  • Kirsten Hullinger, 8th Grade Counselor - kirsten.hullinger [at] nebo.edu

  • Dave Murphy, 9th Grade Counselor - david.murphy [at] nebo.edu

  • Kate Henderson, Responsive Services Counselor - kate.henderson [at] nebo.edu

Student Schedule Change Requests

Because of the unusual circumstances that accompany this year's student enrollment, we anticipate that our counselors are going to be extremely busy, Therefore, we will only be doing schedule changes for academic necessity - Class changes may be requested from Monday, August 10th through Friday, August 14th; 8:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.  A fee of $5.00 is charged except to correct incomplete schedules.  No class changes will be made after Aug. 17th.

Paying School Fees

Once you have completed the online registration process in I-Campus you will need to pay applicable school fees at MySchoolFees.com - https://secure3.myschoolfees.com/start_v2.aspx   Many have already done this, Thank you!

- If you haven't paid school fees yet please login to My School Fees and take care of this ASAP. If you would like to pay your student’s school fees with cash or a check, you will need to come into the school financial office to pay. Please be aware that there is a $2 convenience fee for all credit card transactions made online or at the school.

Fee Waivers

Administration will be available to complete fee waivers August 3rd through 7th from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.  Please bring the Fee Waiver Application with you, if possible.  This application will include a list of necessary documentation needed.

School Community Council

Mapleton Jr. High will be holding School Community Council elections for the 2020-21 school year August 17th through August 28th.  Parents or guardians of students attending MJHS are eligible to be elected.  If you are interested in becoming a candidate for one of the open seats on the council, contact Mr. Travis Moss at 801-489-2892 or email travis.moss [at] nebo.edu by 4:00 p.m. Friday August 14, 2020.  Voting will begin on Monday, August 17th.  For more information about School Community Council and the important role it plays to support MJHS visit http://www.schoollandtrust.org   We appreciate the dedicated service of our community council. This past year the council worked hard to equitably allocate school LAND Trust money in the support of student learning. This money helps improve academic achievement by providing student intervention programs, student technology, reducing class size, providing professional development and helping us support our school improvement plan. For a breakdown of how the money was allocated you can visit our school website under community council.
