Dear MJHS Parents and Students -

The First Day Is Almost Here

All students and parents are invited to attend our annual open house tomorrow, August 18th from 1:00 - 4:00 p.m. (masks are required). The open house will be an unstructured time for parents and students to walk around the building and meet teachers. Additionally, all 7th graders are invited to attend our annual “Mustang Round-up” orientation tomorrow from 8:00 a.m until 10:30 a.m. The following day is the first day of school for all students - remember that school begins at 8:00 a.m. and will end at 1:55 p.m. Mon-Fri. If you have any questions please call the school at 801-489-2892. Thanks - we look forward to seeing all our amazing MJHS students on Wednesday, August 19th

Viewing Students Schedules and Locker Assignments

Student Portal in I-Campus will become active this week - Each student will be sent instructions for creating their own I-Campus account soon through their student email. Until then, in order to view student schedules you must use the Parent Portal account. We apologize that locker information won’t be viewable in Parent Portal until the first day of school. To ensure that every student has their schedule and locker information, we will have a printout ready for all students and will hand them out before school in the commons area on the first day. If you need this information stop by and pick up the print-out!

Picture Day is Coming Soon!

MJHS Picture Day will be this Friday, August 21st. Picture order packets will be sent home with students on the first day of school. If you choose to purchase a picture package, you can either return the packet and money on picture day, giving it directly to the photographers OR you can preview package options and prepay for them online. Simply click here - www.bellphoto.com and enter the MJHS online code: mapletonjrfall20 to pre-order your package. If you order online, your student won’t need to bring a receipt or the packet on picture day. All students will have their picture taken whether or not you decide to purchase a picture package so that it can be used for their student ID card and for the yearbook. If your student is enrolled in remote learning but wishes to be in the yearbook and have an activity card you may come in anytime between 8:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. to have their picture taken.

PTO Welcome Letter

Parents, welcome to Mapleton Junior High School. PTO is an independent organization that promotes open communication and understanding between parents and school staff - we do not belong to any state or national affiliation, or support any political platforms and we keep all of the funds that we raise for our school. We do many wonderful things as a PTO including: provide the meals for the staff during parent/teacher conferences, support the annual Art Salon art show, Battle of the Books, Teacher Appreciation Week as well as many other staff recognition related activities. As you can imagine, to meet all of the goals that we have, we need ACTIVE participation. Many of you have already volunteered to be involved in the PTO this year and we appreciate your willingness to support and be involved. If you have not yet joined the PTO, we are asking for your support at this time. The membership fee is only $7 - We will have a table at Back to School Open House: Tuesday, August 18th; 1:00-4:00 p.m. I would invite you to stop by and join the PTO for the 2020-2021 school year. Joining is easy - and it really makes a difference! If you have any questions, please feel free to call or email Traci Snapp - PTO President (801) 361-5201 / ts1288 [at] aol.com (ts1288[at]aol[dot]com)

What is MJHS’s Return to School Plan? (Updated)

There have been many questions coming my way as to what will be done to keep students safe as we return to school this year. Click this link to see the plan for keeping kids healthy and safe here at MJHS - https://docs.google.com/document/d/1RZIcaV5
