Thank You to those who have already completed the registration process!! For those that haven't - Please Note that the registration window is now open and will close on July 30th. If you haven't already done so, please complete your student’s registration ASAP. By completing the registration process you will allow MJHS to solidify our plans for students will be attending “face to face” as well as know who to plan for with the “remote learning” option. It will also help us get all of your contact information updated in the new system. Paying School Fees to Complete Registration

Once you have completed the online registration process in I-Campus you will need to pay applicable school fees at MySchoolFees.com - https://secure3.myschoolfees.com/start_v2.aspx   Your student will then be able to see his/her schedule in I-Campus beginning August 3rd. If you would like to pay your student’s school fees with cash or a check, you will need to first complete the online registration portion in the I-Campus system and then come into the school financial office to pay. Please be aware that there is a $2 convenience fee for all credit card transactions made online or at the school.

Information About the Remote Learning Option

Parents choosing the district’s remote learning option, Utah Students Connect, will need to contact their MJHS grade level counselor either by email, phone or appointment. Our counselors will help parents by facilitating the enrollment process as well as giving them needed information and answering any questions. Counselors will be available starting Aug. 3rd. From 8:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.

Student Schedule Change Requests

Because of the unusual circumstances that accompany this year's student enrollment, we anticipate that our counselors are going to be extremely busy, Therefore, we will only be doing schedule changes for academic necessity - Class changes may be requested from Monday, August 10th through Friday, August 14th; 8:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.  A fee of $5.00 is charged except to correct incomplete schedules.  No class changes will be made after Aug. 17th.

 

Fee Waivers

Administration will be available to complete fee waivers August 3rd through 7th from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.  Please bring the Fee Waiver Application with you, if possible.  This application will include a list of necessary documentation needed.

 

Adjusted Daily Schedule to Begin the Year

Today in a separate email Nebo District sent out important information about the upcoming school year and the need to adjust the daily schedule. With that information in mind - Our MJHS daily schedule will be 8:00 a.m. to 1:55 p.m. Monday through Friday.

 

School Community Council

Mapleton Jr. High will be holding School Community Council elections for the 2020-21 school year August 17th through August 28th.  Parents or guardians of students attending MJHS are eligible to be elected.  If you are interested in becoming a candidate for one of the open seats on the council, contact Mr. Travis Moss at 801-489-2892 or email travis.moss [at] nebo.edu by 4:00 p.m. Friday August 14, 2020.  Voting will begin on Monday, August 17th.  For more information about School Community Council and the important role it plays to support MJHS visit http://www.schoollandtrust.org   We appreciate the dedicated service of our community council. This past year the council worked hard to equitably allocate school LAND Trust money in the support of student learning. This money helps improve academic achievement by providing student intervention programs, student technology, reducing class size, providing professional development and helping us support our school improvement plan. Upcoming events and dates to remember - More information about these events will be sent out in the following weeks:

  • Aug 3 - Schedules open for students to view

  • Aug 18 - 7th Grade Orientation, 8:00 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. 

  • Aug 18 - Back to School Open House: Tuesday, August 18th; 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. All parents and students are invited to attend. Come meet your teachers, check your locker, and explore the building (Face Coverings Required).

  • Aug 19 - First Day of School

  • Aug 21 - Picture Day - Packets will be distributed to all students on the first day of school. Every student will need to have their picture taken for their student ID and to be in the year book. Purchasing a photo package is optional.
