Mustang Message 4/20/20

Dear Students and Parents,

As I’m sure everyone has heard by now, we will not be returning to regular school for the rest of the year. We understand that this was a decision the governor and state school board made with a lot of consideration. Nonetheless, we are also very sad that we will not get to work with our students face-to-face. We really have missed them so much. Please stay tuned for up-coming information on end of school procedures, including locker clean-out, Chromebook returns, instrument and library book check-ins etc.

Academic Progress - TAKE ACTION NOW if Needed!

Last Friday was mid-term for Fourth Term. We have been so impressed with the level of engagement and progress we have had so far with “at home learning”. Keep up the great work! Please be aware that those students that don’t have a passing grade right now in one or more classes (have an F or I grade) need to immediately contact their teacher by email. They need to simply ask - “what do I need to do to pass” and then be willing to respond and work with the teacher. Teachers want every student to be successful and are committed to respond and work with ALL students to make sure they can pass their classes!  If this applies to you or your student, please know that teachers will work out a plan to get you to pass and get credit for this term! We are so grateful for the positive support you have all given us over the past month plus. We live in an amazing community and we are so grateful for your support.

Yearbooks

Yearbooks for this unique year have not been canceled and will be printed and delivered to the school. However, after speaking with our publisher, it is likely that the production of our yearbooks (along with most other schools) has been delayed due to Coronavirus. Because of this it is possible that yearbook distribution will happen after the last day of school. As soon as we know more we will let you know. It will be our goal to get yearbooks to students as soon as we have them here at the school. If you haven't yet purchased a yearbook, but would like to do so, we still have some extra copies available and you can order one by calling Mrs. Carey in the financial office and paying through a credit card transaction.

Social-Emotional

We are also very concerned about the social and emotional health of our students at this time. Our counseling department is working hard to meet with students via phone calls or video conferencing. If you would like to meet with a counselor please reach out directly by email or phone - 7th grade Eric Baum, 8th Grade Kirsten Hullinger, 9th Grade Dave Murphy, Responsive Services, Kate Henderson, School Psychologist, Amanda Bushman. Click her for contact information - https://www.mjhscounseling.com/
