End of Level Testing Window Opens Soon

As you may have heard, the SAGE test has been removed and replaced with the Utah RISE test for 7th and 8th graders and the Aspire Plus ACT prep test for 9th graders. 7th and 8th graders will take these tests in their regular classrooms with their regular teacher. The 9th grade ACT prep test will occur in 4 sessions on two separate Mondays. The intent of this email is to let parents and student know that this testing window is about to open and testing will begin soon and continue through mid-May. Check with individual teachers for exact dates. Students will participate in the Language Arts, Math and Science portions of the test. We invite all students to get a good night’s sleep and eat a healthy breakfast so that they can be at their best as they show the academic progress that they have made this year.

Spring Break and Spring Related Issues

Please be aware that Spring Break is coming up next week, April 1st - 5th with school resuming on Monday, April 8th.  At this time of year with trees budding, flowers blooming and sunny warm spring weather we have found it helpful to remind all our students of a couple of things that seem to increase in April and May. First, we remind everyone to please follow the school dress code and help us set the right academic tone and create a productive educational environment.  Second we remind students that, public displays of affection, like kissing, hand holding or amorous hugs are not permitted. Again, the reason is to help maintain the right atmosphere where high levels of learning and socially appropriate interactions for a school setting are the norm. Thank you students and parents for your help and support on these two issues

Track Parent Volunteers Needed

We are looking for parent volunteers to help at two upcoming track meets.  If you would like to volunteer to help with an event, please call the school and leave your name and number with the front office secretary Mrs. Rawson or email Coach Lines at leslie.lines [at] nebo.edu (leslie[dot]lines[at]nebo[dot]edu). The two dates that we need help are: April 19th & May 10th. Both at MMHS starting at 1:15 p.m. Track meets generally run between 2.5 and 3.5 hours. We will need your help for the duration of the track meet.  Thank you for your willingness to volunteer your time. **Prior experience NOT required
