Dear Students and Parents,

Student Led Conferences this Thursday, Dec. 6th

By way of reminder: Student Led Conferences will be held this Thursday from 3:30 – 8:00 p.m. Please be aware that these Conferences will be slightly different than in past years - Instead of reporting to only one location, students and parents will rotate through each of their student’s classes. While in each classroom, students will share with their parents a short explanation of their own learning progress based on a specific standard, project or artifact of learning. The intent is that the student leads their parent in a meaningful discussion of their own learning. We hope this will provide an opportunity for students to reflect on their learning as well as where they are in the learning practice process. If you need to speak with any of your student’s teachers they will also be available to visit with you. It is estimated that most parents will spend about an hour and a half total completing the conferences. Of course, if you are time-crunched you could only visit those classes of the most concern. All parents/guardians and students are encouraged to attend.

Student Council Annual Charitable Fundraiser Continues

Reminder - Our annual charitable fundraiser continues through December 7th. We have almost reached our goal of $3000. Please take your donations to your second period teacher. This year you can be the change in someone’s life by donating a few dollars!

Chick-fil-A Is Helping to Support the Annual Charitable Fundraiser

We are happy to announce that Chick-fil-A is sponsoring a “Spirit Night” at the Spanish Fork location to support our Annual Charitable Fundraiser. To participate simply dine at the Spanish Fork location of Chick-fil-A between 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. tomorrow, December 4th and tell the cashier that you want to support the Mapleton Jr. High Fundraiser and 15% of the purchase will go back to our school.

Mapleton City Public Safety Department Is also Supporting the Charitable Fundraiser

Our awesome Mapleton PD and Fire Dept have been gathering donations from the community to help with our charitable fundraiser. They have extended a friendly challenge to our students to see if they can raise more money than students towards this awesome cause. Students are encouraged to donate through the school and community members can donate through Mapleton Police Department - See Mapleton PD Facebook page for more details.

Last Day for Winter Clothing Collection

We are concluding the winter clothing collection tomorrow, Tuesday, December 4th.  If you have any adult sized coats or gloves (new or used) or hats and scarves (new only), please have your student bring them to the big yellow box in the front office at school tomorrow.
