Mustang Message 12/14/20

Dear MJHS Parents and Students -

Reminder - End of Second Term

Did you realize there are only nine school days left in this term after Christmas Break?  Please check with teachers to get any missing work gathered, completed and turned in. Talk to your teachers and arrange to work with them after school during Power Hour from 2:00 - 3:00 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays!  Remember... to make sure that Santa leaves you something good this year, follow these simple step by step instructions: 1 - Get missing work from your teacher 2 - Come do it during Power Hour 3 - Turn it in 4- Your grades go UP 5 - You’re ready for Christmas!  The holiday break also provides extra time if needed, to make up school work that could help raise a grade. Take advantage of the opportunity!

Way to Go Mustangs! - MJHS Annual Fundraiser Was a Great Success

Congratulations to our awesome students - together we raised more than $3000 that will now go toward several different causes. First, it will be used to fund our Sub for Santa project - Gifts and goodies are purchased for local kids so they can have a Christmas that they might not have had otherwise. Second, the funds are used to purchase blankets and activities packs for kids at the hospital - Thank you for your amazing support of this MJHS holiday tradition!

Emotional & Social Resources for Families and Students

The district has provided students and families a great resource from 3rd Millennium to take various emotional and social support mini courses.  Please use this link to register - 3rd Millennium Student & Family Mini-Courses

Winter Sports and Fine Arts Performances

Please be aware that admission to MJHS athletic events (home or away) as well as any fine arts concert event will be by ticket ONLY. Tickets will be distributed ahead of time to athletes or performers for each event.  It is intended that only the parents of student athletes/participants will attend in-person. All other audience members, fans, students, and supporters will have access to the livestream feeds. The live feed links will be available on our website for the various games throughout the district as well as our own fine arts events. http://mjhs.nebo.edu/

A Personal Note of Thanks!

With this being the last Mustang Message I write, I just want to express my thanks for the opportunity I have had to serve our wonderful MJHS community these past three and a half years here at Mapleton Jr.  The students, parents, teachers, and other education support staff have all been amazing! Thanks for the great memories, and I look forward to continuing to serve our community at Maple Grove Middle School going forward. I also want to extend a warm Welcome to Jo Lynn Ford our new MJHS Principal - Welcome, you will love this community!  Sincerely, - Mr. Nate Whitney
