Mustang Message 10/7/19

Dear Students and Parents,

Come to Basketball Open Gym

Open gym for Basketball is happening every Tuesday and Thursday this month (except for Oct. 8th, 17th, 31st). All grades are welcome to participate in open gym. It will be important that any 9th grade student wanting to try out for the school team attends these sessions. Additionally, any 9th grader that does plan to try out needs to make sure that they have completed the physical exam and all “Register My Athlete” requirements. Click this link http://mjhs.nebo.edu/content/athletics-register-my-athlete for RegisterMyAthlete information. Basketball try-outs will be held for 9th grade boys and girls teams on November 11th and 12th. If you have any questions please contact Coach Lines or Coach Schaffer.

Join Us for a Special Parent/Student Presentation

All Nebo School District parents and students are invited to attend a special presentation on October 21st in the Springville High School Auditorium at 7:00 p.m. It is entitled Progress not Perfection and will be presented by Dr. Christy Kane Ph.D., CMHC. Attendees will learn key solutions to help teens navigate “life in progress” and other information that is intended to strengthen families and kids. The presentation discusses the difficulties teens face in today’s complex social media world as they sort through the journey of progress versus perfection. Battle of the Books

If you are still thinking about participating in Battle of the Books, we need a few more students to fill a couple of teams.  If you are interested, come to the library and talk with Mrs. Marett. Our next Battle of the Books meeting will be this Wednesday during FLEX.

Do You Know a Veteran We Can Honor?

Monday, November 11 is our Veterans Day Assembly and we would like local veterans to come! A Veteran Breakfast will be served in the MJHS Faculty Room starting at 7:45 a.m. We then hope our veterans can stay for both our school assemblies from 8:35 a.m. until approx. 10:20 a.m. We would like to personally invite our veterans and family to attend, but we need to know who they are! Parents, please fill out the survey in the link, so we can invite and plan accordingly. Thank you! https://forms.gle/Qam4Y5g1yciXRJo4A

Need for Substitute Teachers

Parents: If you are willing to help us, we do have a real need for substitute teachers. So far this year, we have had many sub requests go unfilled. We are asking for local patrons of MJHS to help fill in. So that you are aware, subs are able to choose the location(s) where they are willing to sub - meaning if you only want to sub for MJHS you can. You are also able to choose your days of availability, with no minimum commitment per month. If you are willing to apply to be a substitute teacher, please visit the Utah Kelly Educational Staffing webpage at http://www.kesutah.appone.com or call our awesome secretary, Theresa Carey here at MJHS to get more information about helping us out as a substitute teacher.
