Mustang Message 10/26/20

Dear MJHS Parents and Students -

Intramural Ultimate Frisbee Starts Tomorrow

Attention, all Mustangs! We will be resuming our after-school intramural activities. Our first activity will be ULTIMATE FRISBEE. This activity is open to ALL MJHS students. We will meet outside on the field Tuesday and Thursday from 2:00-3:00 p.m. starting this week (TOMORROW, October 27th). The activity will go for three weeks, weather permitting. Bring some athletic clothes and shoes, and maybe a water bottle. We'll provide the rest. The more people that come, the more fun we have so tell your friends to come with you! We hope to see you out there!

Halloween Costumes

As we have done in the past, students will be allowed to wear a Halloween costume to school. Due to Halloween being on a Saturday this year (and no school occurring on Friday the 30th because of the term ending), those students choosing to dress in Halloween costumes may do so on Thursday, October 29th. Remember that costumes need to adhere to the district dress code and that the only face coverings allowed will be those we use on a daily basis to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

Join MJHS Wrestling Today!

All students are invited to join our MJHS wrestling team.  Wrestling is a fantastic sport for building confidence, learning self control and of course for the resilience a young person will develop. MJHS wrestling includes both boys and girls and builds towards high school where Utah recently sanctioned girls wrestling as an official sport. This year we would really like to see our junior high numbers grow for both girls and boys! It is anticipated that one of our assistant coaches this year will be female with collegiate wrestling experience. The $90.00 wrestling fee will include bus travel, practices, cool gear, etc. Regular practice will start Monday, November 9th and run every day (with some Fridays off) from 2:30 to 4:00 p.m.  In order to participate, you must go to Register My Athlete and fill out all related paperwork and submit your physical before you will be allowed to practice. If you have questions, please contact coach Craig LaMont at 801-380-8828 or email craig.lamont [at] nebo.edu (craig[dot]lamont[at]nebo[dot]edu)

Girls Wrestling at MMHS for 9th Grade Girls

This year Maple Mountain and UHSSA are making history. Girls wrestling is now officially a sanctioned sport for girls. MMHS Wants you to be part of that history. This year there will be a girls team, duals, tournaments and all girls practices. All 9th graders that will attend MMHS are welcome to join the team. There will be a parent/Athlete meeting on Nov 2nd @ 6:00 p.m. in the MMHS team room and the season starts Nov 9th. For questions call Coach Billy Cox 801-783-7978 or email 12BillyCox [at] gmail.com (12BillyCox[at]gmail[dot]com)
