Mustang Message 9/8/20

Dear MJHS Parents and Students -

Important COVID-19 Updated Information

We have now been back at school for a couple of weeks and hopefully are getting into the routine of how school will function during this pandemic. We ask parents and families to be aware of the precautions and duties that we are asking your help with, namely the importance of checking your student before school each day for any signs of illness - if there is a cough, sore throat or any other symptoms of illness please keep your student home.  Teachers will reach out and work with you and your child to ensure that they don’t fall behind. Please review the updated document by clicking this link: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1RZIcaV5LlR2tM54nPhF5GHkpMQpksZ_Lfp8SQ77cUCg/edit#heading=h.tcpd0451k3e3

What happens if your student comes in contact with a student who tests positive for Coronavirus?

Our response to this situation is under the direction of the Utah County Health Department. We have been told that only students and staff who have been in direct contact (more than 15 min exposure, without a mask, and less than 6 feet) to an individual who has a confirmed COVID-19 diagnosis is considered “exposed”. Please be aware that “contact tracing” will be done through the Utah County Health Department with our school nurses and exposed individuals will be asked to quarantine.

Preparing for Parent Teacher Conferences on Sept 24th

With this unusual year, Parent/Teacher Conferences will be by appointment only. Not all, or even most parents will need to attend. We are encouraging ONLY those parents with academic concerns to set up an appointment with your students' teacher(s) for Thursday, Sept 24th. Teachers will be in their classrooms and not in the gym from 3:30 - 8:00 p.m. and appointments will be for 10 minutes or less. This is an attempt to greatly reduce face to face traffic during P/T Conferences. If you feel you really need to visit with a teacher, please reach out to them directly through email to make that appointment.

Mustang Power Hour

Please be aware that teachers are here to individually help students as needed each day from 2:00 - 3:00 p.m. Tuesday through Friday. Teachers are available in their classrooms to consult with students, re-teach concepts, conference online with students who are sick or quarantined, and generally provide help for students who have missed. To take advantage just email the teacher or have your student set up an appointment with them.
