Mustangs in Mr. Stevenson’s and Mrs. Rowley’s US History classes had the opportunity to participate in a mock trial this week. Students have been learning about the three branches of government, the Bill of Rights and the US legal system. Being able to experience a mock trial provided the opportunity for students to apply and extend their learning in an engaging and interactive way. Each class prepared for their mock trial, with individual students assigned as the judge, bailiffs, prosecution and defense attorneys, witnesses, jury members and even reporters. The students’ preparation for their roles was impressive and commendable. We feel fortunate to have such amazing educators at MJHS, who provide memorable learning experiences for our students.
