Congratulations to our very own Ellizabeth Wheeler who is a 2016 CUSF Award winner! Ellie competed against hundreds of students across the state of Utah and was selected as the 3rd Place winner in the Biochemistry and Chemistry category. She had an amazing project and did wonderful work. I would attempt to explain her work but I would not do it justice, SO please ask Ellie to explain her project when you see her as she is a real expert!

Central Utah STEM Fair (CUSF) is a regional science competition presented by the Brigham Young University David O. McKay School of Education and the BYU-Public School Partnership. It is their goal to excite students about science by providing a venue where they can present and share the lessons they have learned in their classrooms combined with their own interests and discoveries.

The fair is open to 5-12 grade students in the following school districts in Utah: Alpine, Jordan, Nebo, Provo, Wasatch. Students who attend charter or private schools within the boundaries of these school districts and home-schooled students within the Wasatch Home Educator's Network are also eligible to participate.

It is a real honor for Ellie to perform so well amidst so much talent. Way to go Ellie!!! Mapleton Junior High School is very proud of you and your accomplishment!
