Mr. Jackman's Lit and Film students had a great time at Sundance Film Festival. They were able to see Inventing Tomorrow, an inspiring documentary about teenagers who are changing the world for the better through science, and were even able to participate in a Q&A with the director and some of the actual teens who were in the film!

Dave Jex is a teacher who truly lives by the Motto students are the focus, Success is the goal.  He is positive and genuine, to his students and they know exactly what is expected of them.  One student said that “Jex is very uplifting and Positive.  He supports his students and knows them each personally.”  I witness this every time I see students come back to the junior high.   One question I always get is Have you seen Jex?   He impacts his students in way that they will never forget.

Melissa Heaton

Ms. Heaton’s Reading for Enjoyment class decided that, for their final class project of the semester, they wanted to share their love of reading with a local elementary school. This past Wednesday, Ms. Heaton’s students walked to Hobble Creek Elementary to help Ms. Flake’s first graders with their reading and writing. It was a successful project, and everyone had an enjoyable time.
